Can't even scrape one job without an error. Don't charge people for this absolute piece of garbage

Hi UXboard,

We appreciate your feedback and understand how frustrating it can be when things don’t work as expected. However, we’d like to clarify a couple of points to address your concerns:

  1. The scraper is still in beta, which means we’re actively working on improvements and fixes based on user feedback like yours.

  2. You're only charged for the rows you actually retrieve. If you didn’t get any data, then you weren’t charged.

To help us identify what went wrong, could you share a run or the specific error message you encountered? This will allow us to investigate and resolve the issue as quickly as possible.

We also kindly ask that we keep this discussion professional and constructive. We’re here to help, and your insights are valuable to improving the tool further.

Looking forward to hearing from you!

Best regards,

I just wanted to follow up and let you know that I ran a test myself here:

and it’s working as it should.

Please share the run that failed on your end so we can take a closer look and resolve the issue for you.

Let’s keep this conversation constructive—we’re here to assist and improve the tool based on your input.

Hi UXboard,

I just checked the backend logs, and I don’t see any errors. All jobs from the past few days have returned listings as expected, so everything appears to be working normally.

That said, after investigating further, I did discover that if the country parameter wasn’t sent, the scraper would fail because it relies on this parameter to determine the Indeed domain to scrape. I’ve already fixed this issue by making both the country and query keyword required.

Instead of spreading bad publicity (which honestly feels like an attempt from a competitor to damage my work), I’d prefer we handle this professionally.

If I don’t hear back from you with specific details about the issue, I’ll have no choice but to report this message as malicious.

Looking forward to your response with more information so we can address any real issues you might be facing.

Best regards,

Hi borderline, I promise this is not an attempt to sabotage your work, I would never do that. It completely failed when I tried to use it. I was so frustrated when it kept failing.

I think you guys just nailed the issue. The country parameter was not initially required!!! Yes! I'm glad this review helped highlight a seemingly small issue with a perfectly good product but pretty major mistake for user experience. I would have never thought to send the country since it was originally optional. It's better to have one really frustrated initial customer than 1000 people using your product and having the same experience for something small that could have been fixed . You would have had worse reviews from many more people if I had never raised an alarm. I hope you see my complaint in a good light and hope you can see how it has helped highlight a small but critical flaw in the product.

On a different note, major kudos to you and your team for reacting very fast and caring so deeply to get to the bottom of my issue. I thank you greatly and will spread the word about your product.

Also, just found another issue, the scraper does not find the "job url" for most of the jobs retrieved. It says "undefined". Would you like me to open a separate issue on this? https://console.apify.com/view/runs/bvDJDc5FNeazm3cjq

Another issue: sometimes the scraper just completely omits the job url column and all the jobs found have no direct url where you can apply. The company url alone is not useful. Here: https://console.apify.com/view/runs/JYGKw7uOgr2E4H8C6

Hi UXboard,

First off, thank you so much for your thoughtful follow-ups and constructive feedback. 🙌 We're genuinely grateful for your patience and for taking the time to raise these issues—it’s exactly this kind of input that helps us improve the product quickly.

About the Job URL Issue 🔗

We’ve investigated the "job URL" issue you mentioned, and I’m happy to let you know that this has now been fixed! 🎉

You can go ahead and retry your runs—they should now include the correct job URLs in all results. If you spot anything else, don’t hesitate to let us know.

Your Feedback is Invaluable 💎

As you pointed out earlier, it’s better to have one very frustrated user help us identify a critical flaw than to have 1000 users silently struggle. We 100% agree with that perspective and sincerely appreciate your input.

The product is still very new, and we’re committed to making it faster, more reliable, and easier to use with every update. Your feedback plays a huge role in shaping that progress, so thank you again for trusting us and helping us grow.

We’re here anytime you need support or have further suggestions!

Best regards
