MR

Getting Mostly Paris results

Closed

I used this actor six months ago and it worked great, downloading contents from Paris. This week I am trying to download results from San Francisco -- e.g. https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g60713-Activities-c57-t45,57,58,67,68,70,83,87-a_trating.40-San_Francisco_California.html -- and I am getting 10% San Francisco, 90% Paris. Starting on page 5 of the results, they suddenly all change to Paris.

Is this using my home IP address and getting confused?

Hi, thanks for opening this issue!

Very simple :D You still have the Paris search part in your input, please remove it: "locationFullName": "Paris"

FYI, no, the scraper is using its own proxies with their IP addresses, so it doesn't matter where you are launching it from :)

I hope this helps, thanks and happy scraping!

Thanks for the response. I can't find anywhere in the UI that it was setting that locationFullName field. What I did notice is that if the optional search field is empty, then it injects "Paris" into the query, so I had to put a single into the field to make that stop. I will test again and see if this hidden JSON field was also an override.

Thank you again! /m

Hi, we deprecated locationFullName and replaced it with the new input field query which is why you couldn't find the locationFullName field in the UI editor. Simply remove it using the JSON editor, save your changes and it shouldn't appear anymore. I tested it with your input and Paris disappeared for good (my test run).
