Scraper missing around 50% of total country entries

I am trying to scrape the entire UK for all churches. Using the Places API this can be checked as around 47K in total (places that have been categorised as 'church'); other sources verify roughly this figure. Your scraper works well but yields around 19K entries when I run location as United Kingdom and search term 'church'. As I am missing what appears to be over half the entries do you have an suggestions to improve performance? Can I lower the default zoom level? or perhaps define the search area a different way? I know that I am missing results from manually inspecting the dataset too. Any help would be very much appreciated.
