When I put in 800 for number of videos and run it only comes up with ~200 videos. Does this mean that there are only ~200 videos on the platform with this hashtag?
Hello, thank you for opening this issue.
No, you are correct in being suspicious of the number. The problem is that we scrape the hashtag page (https://www.tiktok.com/tag/funny) and TikTok does not return all the results related to the searched hashtag and it's also not very reliable with forcing the exact hashtag.
We are exploring some alternatives to just scraping the hashtag page to get more consistent results but there is not ETA for now. In the meantime, if your main need is mostly the volumes of video scraped, I suggest you to scrape the search instead of the hashtag (meaning using your word as a keyword, not as a hashtag).

Hi thanks for answering this Luigi. How do I scrape for a keyword instead of a hashtag? I tried to change in the JSON code but that made it fail as well. Would you mind providing a bit more detail as to have I do that?
Instead of using the first text input at the top of the input page you can click the Search tab and +Add the keywords you want to search there.
