ParentId is not appearing, output documentation out of date.

Awesome stuff with your actor!

Currently in the documentation it indicates that there is a parentID https://apify.com/apidojo/tiktok-comments-scraper#output-example. After a couple of tests, it seems that this has been removed.

After a bit of research and exploring I noticed that awemeId is the id of the video. Might it be an idea to update the documentation to save the next person running into problems?

Also what would be ideal is if it would be possible to add parentId and repliedToId. With repliedToID indicating which comment a reply is to. This could be the same as the parentID for comments on a post and then the id of the comment if it is a reply.

Your reply made me think that there was something else going on. In run jEM5GvRDkqVvRVV6K I found some records with parentId. I am presuming now that parentId is only set when the comment is a reply.

I think it would be worth adding these two points to the documentation/README:

  • awemeId is the id of the video that the comment or replie is made to
  • parentId is the id of the comment that a reply is being made to and is not set for comments that are not replies

Hey there,

Yes, that's how it is working. Sorry for the inconvenience here, we will update the documentation and add those there.

Cheers!
