MY

One more issue with duplicates

Hi! One more duplicate on the same Instagram username?

It’s really strange because the same reels have different short codes.

Maybe you know I can track if I encounter this issue again? Right now, it’s very hard to spot this problem—I have to check every reel for it, and I only noticed it again by chance this time.

Hello,

Can you please let us know which of these objects are duplicates?

Cheers

I've conducted some research and discovered that I can identify duplicates by comparing captions and durations. If reels share the same caption and duration, they are duplicates. However, these duplicate reels contain inaccurate data regarding comments, likes, and views.

Let me show you examples using another runs:

RUN_NUMBER_01 - https://console.apify.com/actors/runs/t1HbXerfwvvl7wPmV Scrapping reels from reels page:

INPUT { "customMapFunction": "(object) => { return {...object} }", "startUrls": [ "https://www.instagram.com/jeni_vosk/reels/" ], "until": "2024-12-16" }

Looking this text "Не знаю, как Вы, но я настроена всегда быть молодой и прекрасной✨" (ru language) Found these the same duplicated reels with different metrics:

  1. https://www.instagram.com/p/DHDWV0XNrxq
  2. https://www.instagram.com/p/DHDWF4Stmtt
  3. https://www.instagram.com/p/DHDVz61N5sD
  4. https://www.instagram.com/p/DHDVeYXOAqY
  5. https://www.instagram.com/p/DHDVLmbu_0w
  6. https://www.instagram.com/p/DFxNuwMx_YA
  7. https://www.instagram.com/p/DD6xK1uSY3L - this is original reels, that really showen in account

RUN_NUMBER_02 - https://console.apify.com/actors/runs/3zld8oHoGrlaGDHFY Scrapping reels from post page:

INPUT { "customMapFunction": "(object) => { return {...object} }", "startUrls": [ "https://www.instagram.com/jeni_vosk/" ], "until": "2024-12-16" }

Looking this text "Не знаю, как Вы, но я настроена всегда быть молодой и прекрасной✨" (ru language) No duplicates:

  1. https://www.instagram.com/p/DD6xK1uSY3L (this is the seven link from RUN_NUMBER_01)

But at the same time, post page scraping reveals a lack of reels, which suggests the account doesn’t publish them on the main page.

Hope it will help you understand the problem, Thank you!

I guess your actor has issues when it scrapes information from a virtual device. However, there are no duplicates if you use a web browser.

Hello,

Seems like these posts are not duplicates. They have the same content but the author posted them several times. You can see it from the ID (url) of the reels and also the post date and stats on it.

Probably they reposted the same thing but hid them from their profile. Long story short, if the URL is different, it means they are not the same post.

Cheers

But there are no duplicates when I look on reels page of this account from iphone or from web browser. Duplicates are only shown when I open this page using android virtual device. Its very strange

Hello,

Seems like these post are hidden from the profile that's why you cannot see them. If you check carefully about their post date, stats, etc, you will see that they are different posts.
